Even after decades of becoming vegetarian, sometimes I’m in the mood for a hot dog. In the past I’ve enjoyed Lightlife hot dogs, but this time I tried MorningStar’s version.
The veggie dogs come six to a package. There are only 50 calories per dog, but you’ll probably want to eat two. Like many MorningStar products you have different cooking method options. If you’re in a hurry, you can cook one hot dog in the microwave for sixty seconds or less. If you have more time, you might want to choose the skillet method because you run less of a risk of a rubbery dog.
The MorningStar veggie dogs are tasty and filling. I often put them on a potato bread roll and then add condiments (everything from sauerkraut to ketchup and onions). The veggie dogs definitely satisfy the craving for hot dogs.
Five out of five stars.
