Annie Chun’s Shiitake & Vegetable Potstickers

These potstickers tasted pretty good, but trying to prepare them was a nightmare. The instructions list three methods of cooking. For some reason, one of the options is microwaving, though the package warns that it’s “Not Recommended.”

I went with the Pan Fry method which included three paragraphs of directions. Definitely a bad sign. This method proved to be a disaster. The dumplings never browned, fell apart, and looked horrible. They should put “Not recommended” next to the Pan Fry method as far as I’m concerned.

Still, it didn’t taste horrible. According to the package, the potstickers are described as “Organic brown rice, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, onions and carrots in a light delicious wrapper.” There are about 410 calories in each package.

If I buy the product again, I’ll try the boiling method. I’m tempted, though, to find a recipe and make my own version.
